Nancy's mother, Clara Lucy Hawkins, lived to be 97-and-a-half. She was in her own house in Springfield, until she was 85, when Nancy got her settled into a very nice assisted living place in St. Louis.
Nancy was truly a devoted daughter, taking her mother on picnics and trips and outings.
Known as Daw to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nancy's mother was popular with old and young alike.
