Nancy Hawkins Meyer

Writer

Nancy had a degree in English and although she never pursued a career in writing, she certainly had a knack for it.

Early in her marriage, she worked with Dick on articles that would help advance his career.

When Dick was working in Lincoln Center, together they interviewed some of his more famous coworkers: Arthur Miller, Elia Kazan, Faye Dunaway, Jason Robards... who else? After each interview, she would work into the night transcribing the tapes and organizing the information. She and Dick published several articles together, including one in "Theatre Arts" magazine (1964-left) and a chapter in "Theatre: The Annual of the Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center" (1965-right). Nancy also wrote several children's stories and was a prolific poet, although she never pursued publication in this area.
